Plans for Valentine's Day?

Just a bit of Valentine's Day advice from Luca the Love Doctor.

If you want to get anywhere with the ladies Luca suggests that you dress up and do your best to look spiffy.

Be on your best behavior and maybe your sweetie will let you give her a kiss!

Libby tried to follow Luca's tips...She got dressed up.

And now she's plumb tuckered out.

Happy Valentine's Day all. :)

Dog Portrait

Libby wants nothing to do with Yumi and the whole E-collar business.

I love this double portrait. It's so strange, yet so revealing of the personalities. As soon as the camera comes out both of them have to charge right at it - Yumi frantically jumping and pawing and licking the air and Libby barging in and knocking her off balance every five seconds. LOL! The two of them are like chalk and cheese yet they get along quite well.

Look at how grey Libby's mask is getting. Poor old lady. :(

Dogs? Yeah, We've Got 'Em...

...all sizes!

yumi and libby 9-25-08

Yumi and Libby prove that David and Goliath don't have to quarrel, even with a tasty Nylabone in the vicinity! This should be a poster for world peace or something don't you think? :)

Mastiff Mouwff

Presenting - Libby's great big ole Mastiff Mouwff. Look at that huge gaping maw. Any Lion Tamers out there willing to stick your head inside that? I dare you. But don't say I didn't mention the DROOL.

When Libby stands next to you and breathes on you it seriously feels like someone is pumping a huge bellows, blasting you with slightly stinky humid air and sucking all the breatheable air out of the room.

**Got 6 more patches done last night. Did I mention each patch has 8 seams? The good thing is that I am mostly using the yarn tails for sewing up so when I have finished the sewing I won't have any ends to weave in. So I'm closer to being done than it may feel like. :)**

Lazy Sunday

We're all relaxing today. Libby has relaxing down to an art form.

Look at those paws! Every mastiff I have ever known has had the curious habit of standing on their owners feet. Even if Libby is just sitting next to you she will put one of her paws on top of one of your feet. I think it is just the mastiff way of "keeping track" of their loved ones. You can't stray too far when you are pinned down by a mastiff!

Libby's Wrinkles

Libby snuffling the grass.

One of the best things about Mastiffs is their wrinkles. It gives them such character. Libby has alot of character. :)

Have a great long weekend everyone!

Libby

I love this picture of Libby. Mastiffs are so noble, so regal, so strong. Something about that big square head and slightly droopy eyes makes them look so wise and slightly sad. Sometimes Libby looks so calm and serene.

Of course this is what Libby looks like most of the time.

Doh! We make endless fun of her for sleeping with her tongue sticking out like that. What a dope! LOL! I also call her the LAND HIPPO!!! (You have to sort of sing it to the tune of the theme song for Bonanza to get the full effect.) And when she looks particularly goofy I call her "Ribby" in my best Scooby Doo voice. She loves it. She has no shame. She's just so happy to be included, happy to get attention.

She's getting to be an old lady now. Giant breeds rarely live long and Libby is coming up on her 6th birthday. Her black mask is rapidly fading to grey. She seems to be in perfect health (okay, a wee bit chubby) but I am starting to realize we may lose her someday. I don't know what we would do without her - goofy old lady!
